gross AND fun! hard mix to come by.

RockLou responds:

Thank you so much! :)

don't use tweens to rotate! if you open the movieclips actions (click it, and press F9), just type:

onClipEvent(enterFrame){
this._rotation+=15;
}

you do that because you are telling Flash to rotate the movieclip on its center-point in DEGREES every time the current timeline frame refreshes. In this case it is 15 degrees, per frame.
If you use tweens, you will end up with a small "hiccup" where your tween ends. Also, increase framerate to 28 or more!

MAKOMEGA responds:

that is good to know.
i want to know more about flash, the only think i can do here is flash pages, make games and movie flash its so dificult to me

yeah, it's pretty crappy. but if you actually cared about working with Flash at all, you'd be able to rise above that.

I challenge ya, redo this on your own time, make it something you can be proud of. Put your "bullets" on a timer (setInterval) and then add a variable within your "if(Key.isDown(KEYCODE)){" that doesn't allow the gun to be fired again UNTIL that key is pressed again.
Just a variable like "var_GunFiring=1" with an extra condition in your Key.isDown "if" statement. that might look like "if(Key.isDown(Key.SPACE)&&var_GunFir ing==0){".

Please feel free to PM me or use the BBS here to get more help if you are really interested in making games.

Noobstudios responds:

I do intend to make another game during the summer, but im probably just going to do away with this game entirely. this didnt turn out well at all.

really, it's a very good DOOM-flavored emulation of Pac-Man. Doesn't do anything too radically different, but can still occupy a few minutes of time here and there.

Cyberdevil responds:

Thanks for the comment!

i knew i was the most important member of NG because i was the main character.

its about time you got your own game lul

a really great twist on maze-style games. it incorporates physics, collecting, and logic to produce a really addictive experience. Granted, the graphics are towards the lower side, but they do create a pretty good atmosphere with random shapes floating around to add perspective and depth.

Essentially, this is one of those old-fashioned wooden "metal ball mazes" where you try to roll the ball from one corner to another by tilting the box. It differs in that unlike that devious wooden pastime, this provides hi-scores....electronic music....special effects....and is a really great time.

there feels like some lag, on my machine, even on low-quality, but that's alright. I also had some minor issues with the camera angles, how it could jump from one group of water to another. I also will say that I wish you had picked a different color for the water....it looks kinda gross.

out of 10...

gfx - 7 (serviceable, lacks killer style)
sfx - 7 (soundtrack drags, no sfx)
design - 8 (good levels, nice presentation)
gameplay - 9 (addictive, simple, fun)

overall, this is a great game to pass some time. it may be rough around the edges in some regards, but mostly just all-around good, simple, clean fun that challenges your brain without making you answer any stupid questions.

komizart responds:

Thanks man. I am glad that you liked my game

i love the idea! i just wish I could use my mouse-wheel to scroll...

deathink responds:

You can use the mouse wheel to scroll, when I added the slider, I must have broke the scroll feature...I will get it fixed by tomorrow.

well, without any clear goals or "power-pellets" to keep me going, I just sort of gave up. not very fun, even though it does some interesting things. I had a rough time with the GFX, they're pretty shaky. Didn't listen to the sounds, no speakers.
I really liked the way enemies responded to different situations, like your being behind a tree or crashing into a tree....yet, there's no variety, no score, no goal! A fruitless expedition for players.

out of 10...

gfx - 5 (hard to make out)
sfx - N/A (i have no soundcard)
design - 6 (another featureless game)
gameplay - 5 (doesn't hold interest)

overall, i suspect this is one of those "just testing my coding skills" games that doesn't leave much room for players. A high-score table, a weapon, and other simple stuff would go a long way here. Sadly, as is...feels half-baked.

androidmt319 responds:

I've made this game with Construct 2 Free Edition. No coding, really. Can't add anymore enemies, weapons, etc with this edition. There is a snowball launcher power up. Thanks for the review.

hahaha, i had fun just listening to all of these for a second. very clever with the "delete" button, yes yes...but the...hmmm....FACT THAT THERE'S NO VAN FREAKIN' HALEN made me sad....i like that you did he names by key-letter....as for Z....SHAME ON YOU! What the f*ck about ZZ Top?!

PhantomCat responds:

If you wanted to sing Van Halen songs with Van Halen, you could just listen to a VH album. DUH. I'm providing a NEW service here.

Also, crap, you're right. Still, I don't feel as bad about that as having to include XTC in anything ever at any point of my life, but I can't think of another X even now.

an extremely laggy game....I quit when the "world map" menu wouldn't let me change to any other tabs. lost interest very quickly, disappointed...no review.

Victory responds:

It's a high quality game. Play it on low quality if you experience lag.
