the game itself is totally overridden by the horrifying UI! The main menu is a turn-off, when that's the most important moment to convince Players that yes, fun is only a click away. the main menu here says something more like "yes, this excel spreadsheet took acid"

the game itself is okay, i didn't get far, but i'm not sure there is a lot of depth at any rate. we've seen this game, more or less...

also, those vehicles are completely traced and/or have heavy photoshop filters applied. The Author here has implied that the work is entirely their own, when in fact these are probably copyrighted/protected images. if the owner of those images recognized them here, if this game were popular enough, there'd be trouble. besides that, it's totally offensive! would have really liked to see credits for the Artist/Photographer on these traced, and technically plagiarized art.

I really hope the Author continues to work hard at improving their design and drawing skills, which are the most obvious flaws here. i'm not very good at it, but this stuff is important:

Also, many of the features are half-done and the background graphic is awfully plain.

As a final thought, the game premise itself is beyond tired. There's nothing wrong with breaking molds even when you feel uncomfortable doing so. maybe that's the most important time to do so, who knows!

peace to the author, and i hope they keep up the hard work, i would love to see a much-improved version of this...

Not really. If you're going to review, leave some constructive criticism next time yeah?

great design, good style, and solid but simple graphics.

i haven't felt like writing a real review for a game in a long time, but this one is pretty filled in. Author response to the review makes a big difference to me.

First, I think the low ratings are due to personal preference. and then there is the matter of the casual gamer who doesn't realize you can light up the area with the gun. an in-game tutorial could have been short and sweet, but without it many won't read the instructions. i personally know that i dont play games to read instructions, i follow enough of them at work, yknowhadimsayin?!

The design works great, though, and the option to customize character is cool. to be honest, the choices in themselves weren't "all that" but I still dug it. many cool little physics at work here, and this game is "more than meets the eye".

I would really reccomend that now might be the perfect time for the Author to really work hard at his drawing skills, because many of the sillouhettes just didn't hold.

I admit, the content in itself didn't really hold my interest for too long, but it's interesting to think of how this could develop. Different guns, hell UPGRADES would be great. Give me a little rapel wire or something, give me a way to kill the enemies, and not just in a bland "one-shot kills" way.

My producers are telling me it's time to wrap up this review, so as a final topic I think that while I do appreciate the monochromatic colors, there is something....missing, there. And also, some of the level designs are too steep too fast. The difficulty curve is just not level.

out of 10...

gfx - 6 (good style, but tooo much ambiguous shape)
sfx - N/A (no soundcard here)
design - 8 (great features, simple UI)
gameplay - 7 (frustrating, but still keen)

overall, while there are some rough edges here and there this is a great game to pass a few minutes. there is a challenge present, and this game has heart. highly recommended. And also, welcome back to NG.

io3creations responds:

Thank you for your very detailed review and welcoming me back :) It's been a while. Hopefully, I can remain a bit more active on NG.

Actually, the StickMan Sam series has be a learning/testing tool for me. I try to work mainly on various aspects of the game engine and use as little time on gfx as needed. That's why I started using a stickman in the first place :)

Also, In this part I wanted to focus on something different: focus on the darkness, a few interesting physics based puzzles with some thight spots. Based on the feedback and ratings, on average, the game did better than I expected even though it is very different from the other parts in the series that actually have a varity of guns.

I do have a few other ideas that will be based on the similar concept. e.g. one with more exploration that would have more detailed backgrounds but that may be confusing for an action game.

Hopefully, I addressed the issues you mentioned. If you have any questions, send me a pm.

With better graphics, and maybe with larger balloons....perhaps a few upgrades for the player to upgrade their car, or maybe even just different car types, this would be pretty cool.

the only challenge does come from missing a jump, though....if the player could their car would be pretty sweet.

but definitely needs graphics work, for sure.

flashmakeit responds:

Thanks so much for the useful comments. That game was so hard to make. I will try to find my old code to that game and redo it.

simple, sweet, straight-to-point....functional, pretty, and positive. i would have liked more characters, Dad would have been an awesome choice.

I would love a sequel to this, with more obstacles and enemies....i don't think it needs "choose your own" upgrades...or any story. it's great this way, but to shoot the cannon would have been a great feature.

io3creations responds:

Due to a few issues, I left out many things and decided to go with a Happy Wheels type gameplay. Shooting is something I want to have so that will definitely be there in the sequel.

I've added Dad to the characters ;)

VERY HOT

i think it's pretty cute, a good style, and a cool concept...but there doesn't look like any way to tell which bushes have monsters.

gio-m responds:

Thanks :) and no there is no way of knowing if there is a person in the bushes or not. The idea was to build a nice peaceful atmosphere which then grows into a sense of anxiety. Much like how the great out doors is fun till you realize there are lots of dangerous animals out there. I think i may have been a little off on my joke :). Thanks again for the feedback. You did give me a great idea to add upgrades in the next game. Like rocks or sticks a player can us to scare off the people. ;)

I actually played this for a while, and it's not bad. I won't lie, it didn't really feel like a full game....the fact that I found myself running a giant lemonade stand more than a theme park made for some unfun times. Then when I realized one of the goals was to collect $200,000 cash, I quit.

I tried, and a game like this really shouldn't be so exhausting. Fatigue set in around 150 guests, and I was already thinking about playing my Xbox.

I like the minimal style, but too many rough edges here just didn't make the game feel very fun by the end.

AntiJcup responds:

Thanks for trying it out :) I appreciate the feedback, i will try and learn from it.
