I haven't really written a review for any of the amazing choose-your-own-adventure stories from KFSB. Mostly because I didn't know HOW. One thing I can say is that they always have a deep and replayable storyline. Like I says, it reminds me just of those old books from when I was a kid ("flip to page 86, or page 113!").

Out of 10....

GFX - N/A (none available)
SFX - N/A (none available)
DESIGN - 9 (excellent storyline and very thoughtful)
GAMEPLAY - 8 (highly immersive and replayable)

OVERALL....

This is a great series and modus operandi for you. My only suggestion would be title art, and occasional sound effects. Rock n roll!

CaptainJackTHAC0 responds:

Thanks for the review! The old fighting fantasy books were a huge inspiration for me; always felt awesome to see that passage "Turn to 400" :D

Firstly, I love that the game loads very quickly. The confusing graphics work a lot to the games advantage. The crappy keys, the really bizarre character. I love it. The levels are actually well-planned. I will say the sound effects are less than enthusiastic. The atmosphere could have been stronger.

So...Out of 10....

GFX - 8 (sheer eccentricity)
SFX - 3 (missing music)
DESIGN - 8 (clever and thoughtful)
GAMEPLAY - 6 (basic but effective)

OVERALL.....

This game has too low a rating. It's a basic, but effective, puzzling platformer. Keep it up! And "Remember, don't tell anyone about this!"

angryoscah responds:

Thanks! For me, it was crucial to keep the game efficient, so anyone can play the game and don't have to wait long. The main character is truly bizarre:D. It's great to hear that you liked the level design because this was my first time I have designed levels for a platformer. Maybe the game could have used more music, but I thought the sound of wind and silence sometimes is more powerful on some levels. That reference made my day :) Thanks for the feedback!

Ugh. The authors own lack of enthusiasm is off-putting. The game is a click-to-win shooter. The graphics and unsettling moments have their potential, but the necessity of clicking specifically on enemies is a real drag.

Out of 10...

GFX - 7 (very creepy, decent characters)
SFX - NA (no audio device here)
DESIGN - 5 (poor production)
GAMEPLAY - 5 (very poor coding)

OVERALL....
feels like a click-em-up. Click the right point, enemies, and win. The weapons are well-designed, but otherwise the game is just lacking. The fact that you die immediately unless you click the enemies perfectly, sucks.

The creatures are disgusting, the game lags very heavily on older hardware, and the paid option to support fullscreen is a jip. The "indie" graphics are seemingly intentional, but they express a certain level of amateurity not befitting a game costing $10?! Ten fucking dollars for this?

What a joke. I haven't reviewed a game in a minute, but regardless....

Out of 10...

GFX - 4 (poorly amateur)
SFX - 3 (minimal sound fx, crappy music)
DESIGN - 5 (paid features are a cash-grab)
GAMEPLAY - 7 (good gameplay hindered by poor performance)

OVERALL.....this title pisses me off. The developer wants $10 to fullscreen the game? I make $10 an hour busting my fucking ass in manual labor. I'm not down. The gameplay I'm sure is just fine on a higher-end system, but again what we've got here is a sloppy and half-assed performance design. Glad it's still a Flash game, but it's like the Developer just opened up Flash, designed some gross creatures, wrote a bunch of spaghetti code, and called it a game. Most heinous.

The reset button doesn't appear to work.....

Arg410 responds:

Yup this is a R bug, I explained in other comments :)

disturbingly laggy for such a simple game....I am unable to review as a result.

After 24 hours without sleep, I DEFINITELY know what I'm doing, and it's going to bed after this er.....um....well. Yeah. Please Lord, don't let me dream of HL2 face-eaters and KFC.

A fantastic journey through medieval times starring adorable animals! The level of detail in graphics is great, it's a lot of fun to watch critters show up and interact with the stores. All your favorite aspects of the Tycoon genre are here, in a tightly-knit lunch-break style package. The music is engaging and familiar, options are what you'd want (graphics toggles, volume control), and an ongoing list of missions keeps you engaged.

Out of 10....

GFX - 9 (full animations, great details, retro feel)
SFX - 8 (familiar soundtrack, good effects quality)
DESIGN - 9 (Clever expansion on the Shop Tycoon formula)
GAMEPLAY - 8 (Familiar, but fresh)
VALUE - 8 (may not run well on low-end hardware, but hours of fun)

Overall, it's another sequel to the Shop Tycoon franchise we've seen from LittleGiantWorld. It expands on the concept and design, in almost every way. It's definitely the next step for this series!

LittleGiantWorld responds:

thank you, have a great day :)

It's pretty rad for a basic Sandbox sim. I really like that it uses physics and reacts in unexpected ways. The inclusion of a reset button would have been the cherry on top, and perhaps some sound effects and a quick loop.

out of 10...
GFX - 6 (good splatters, but choppy text)
SFX - 0 (No audio?!)
DESIGN - 5 (thoughtful level, but without features)
GAMEPLAY - 6 (Good for a couple minutes)
VALUE - 5 (worth checking out)

Overall, this toy is only just okay. It lacks features, but possesses ambitious potential. Nevermind haters, they're just unhappy with themselves and take it out wherever possible. Integrity shines through on this sandbox toy.

erresome responds:

Thanks for such a big review! O_O
I will release pretty huge update soon. It will contain RESET BUTTON, blood colors, movable objects (Phys too), bigger level, sounds and background melody!
Also I think to work together with "There she is!!!" movie creator, to make a game based on this story, so maybe future updates will be a bit slow in release.
(Sorry for bad ENG)

A terrific rush of the Tycoon genre with a flare of history to round it out. The retro style fits perfectly in a fast-paced environment of collecting and shrewd decisions.
That said, some features offer little more than aesthetic value or answering curiosity. Other features aren't very helpful, and there is an apparent shortage of overall inventory to select from at only 60 items (which includes platforms). There is also some inconsistency in cost of inventory, leaving the Player to largely blunder through sales at times. The "Phone A Friend" option would be great, except that the cost of doing so often outweighs the value you are trying to save on an item. The initial buzz wears off, which may leave older Gamers dissatisfied or Collectors scratching their heads.

Elsewise, the smooth colors in this game are awesome! I very much like the chilled-out chiptunes, which help to provide a very authentic atmosphere. I also really enjoyed the idea of "damaged" merchandise, which is visible.
The Intellivision keypad for dialing in offers is a great inclusion.

out of 10...
GFX - 8 (great attention to detail and overall pleasantness)
SFX - 9 (fantastic loop and exciting effects)
DESIGN - 7 (creative features, but imbalanced)
GAMEPLAY - 6 (Limited range but overall addicting)

Overall, despite the humbleness of what's under the hood, we see a great and tightly-knit idea presented in a professional and fun way.
