i got really bored really fast, i guess I just fell out of the JRPG formula years ago.

I really respect the design, and the artwork is pretty wonderful, I love the camera and the concepts for combat/puzzles are refreshing. But in the end, I just felt.....bored.

Nothing personal, it's really just my own burn-out over, as I've said, the core JRPG formula.

An intense tale for sure, but frankly more self-serving than anything else...I am sorry for the pain you endured, and glad for the joy you now are free to have. I hope it was a therapeutic exercise...and that you indeed find the man or woman you wish to marry.

You did not turn out to be a failure, or lose. This places you on the other side of the fence, from where I am. Not as a man who must face his sexuality, but as a straight man battling alcoholism, the design of my own ruin, and anchors and scars I now must carry and bear forever.

Best of luck, and best wishes. An intense story for sure. Much respect at your courage. I have no story to tell, if that was to be a response. Ha! Who is acting selfishly now, well, I surely am. Fare well.

i was sort of annoyed that a tiny game without much fanfare that I played less than the ad ran....had ads to start with.

I like the level of "polish" on this. It looks and plays sharp, within the constraints of the design....which i think could have been tightened just ever-so. As is, I wouldn't doubt that there is ZERO proof this game is able to be finished.

Therefor, based on this, i must concede that there isn't a win-condition and so....I shouldn't rate a title at all of this variety.

However....

Out of 10...

GFX - 7 (minimal, sharp, and positive)
SFX - N/A (muted speakers during ad, did not unmute)
DESIGN - 3 (a terrific concept laid to waste by poor timing)
GAMEPLAY - 6 (overall falls short as hope dwindles of a win)

Overall, this could've been really something. I feel this project was abandoned too soon out of doubt at its potential, which I think could have been really great.

To be fair, the ads were from Newgrounds, not my game, and they go away if you get supporter status :) /endadforng

You're right that there's a lot more to be done with this game/idea, but really, this release was more about putting out a base product. This is as basic a game as I can make and the sequel is where it's gonna start to kick ass, I promise.

PS there's no sound in the game, because, come on, who doesn't immediately mute it anyway?

i liked the voice acting, and some of the visual effects. still, despite this, spent more time watching the ad than having fun playing this game. as the irritating lo-fi loop plays in the background, I really want to stop writing and never think of this again lol

[Fort Zombie Redux]

i see no way to avoid zombies, and no way to earn money. in other words, there's no win-condition, and so doesn't quantify as a "game". It is more of a functional demo. Redux? I would hate to see the original.

it won't load in either firefox or IE, latest versions of both on WIndows XP. briefly flashes the ad window, then just dissapears leaving the NG gray/black wood-looking background. so....sorry.
