Pretty neat look, very grim in a way. Can't speak on the sound, can't hear it. Love the backstory....
Controls are loose, but in a way that works really well IMO. The upgrade orbs aren't honestly a whole lot of fun, and the mutant mode seems sort of....useless. Perhaps that is my fault as I didn't play as long as you may have liked and therefor didn't get to discover the true use of the mutant ability, or if there were more. and on occasion, I felt as though the game was forcing me here or there.

anyway...out of 10...

Hey thanks for the review. From the sounds of things the troubles you are having are due to the pre loader not working properly. Were currently working on fixing this. We will also be giving Mo' some more features for when he is mutated. This should help give it more of a reason. Also you gain more points while mutated.

Whatever went into this game is so far beyond me that all I can say is that I love the concept, and I think that this redefines edutainment. It doesn't weigh you down with statistics and huge blocks of reading. It's fast-paced, with great illustrations and effects....it teaches Math, or at least inspires an interest, and it's FRIENDLY.

overall, a really innovative and educational game that doesn't leave much room for frustration. Only flaw may lie in it's simplistic "multiple choice" approach.

josephmcarney responds:

I went back and forth a lot with how I wanted the player to answer the problem (between mult. choice and an input text). I eventually settled on mult. choice because I wanted to focus more on vocabulary and less on spelling. I thought it could create frustrating game play trying to figure out the correct spelling when you knew what the answer was. I, for one, can never figure out how to spell parallel :P

To be honest, I like the idea and the approach. However, I'm not running that old of an machine and am getting incredible lag. After all, if it's designed like an old DOS game then shouldn't it also have the same demands in terms of processing power? Something to do with your level design I think...maybe it is all loaded at once instead of in sectors? Dunno.

I think the first update you make SHOULD be the dynamite! and either adjust framerate (which seems to waver), or optimize the way levels load or something.

overall, I love the idea and it is a charming game hindered only by slight lag at times.

jasonorme666 responds:

Lag seems to be a problem once its exported to flash, I've come across it only a couple of times myself.
At the start of the frame (once the loading screen has sorted all level, loot and monster generating values) it will then spawn everything at once within that frame, this can up the object count from 60 to over 300 in a matter of seconds. Which is definitely something I need to find a work around for.

Thanks for the review and thanks for playing.

I like it a lot. I think it needs an easier way to compare mech parts, which is always the trouble I have with Mech builders. Armored Core was the same way, I remember having to write specs down on notebook paper and really process the information and just sort of guess at whether or not it was a better part.
Also, the gaphics somehow strike me as a little too..uh..."liney". Other than that, this could be a huge hit I think, with many dedicated users.

overall, a great idea in need of buffing and smoothing of wrinkles.

Tacticsoft responds:

We'll see if we can get that in (the idea to compare items easier). Would be a little hard to fit it into the Workshop window that is already a little cramped, but we'll see what we can do when we've ironed out the bugs people seem to be having!

Cool style, great art....interesting design. Overall, I really like the art more than anything. The political commentary I can take or leave, but as an Advanced Wars spoof using current events, I think this is an awesome title. Looking forward to "Strategery: Middle East Democracy" expansion pack.

Big gripe: too much talking. As a gamer, I am more interested in playing the game than I am reading a comic book. If I was more interested in reading or watching cinematics, I'd probably go read or see a movie. Not to dump on the game's dialogue, I just don't care for it in such excess.

SilverwareGames responds:

Heh, probably not going to go in the middle east direction. When people are actually dying over the war it isn't as fun for me to make it into a goofy game. Also, since they are new at the whole election thing it isn't as much fun to tease them.

I'm thinking about ways to still get the dialogue out there but make it as quick paced as possible, but yeah to play this one you're gonna need to read.

I don't think it's bad. I like it! it just needs a lot of work! For example,. there is no crash animation. Also, needs upgrades! Looking forward to version 2.0!

games007 responds:

thanks

I'm a fail, couldn't even find the Ghostbusters.

You know, y'all lost me with the first comic that loads after the redirect. I think you lost half of the people who tried the game for different reasons, one probably being that they were very wary of being redirected to another site without ANY warning.

That being said, you lost me because I didn't understand how I was supposed to re-arrange "The Little Cynic". I tried clicking on the panels, and I tried draggin' them around but all I got was "no, that's not right!".
Pretty clever takes on the Sunday funnies though. I like that this tries to not only express ideas of philosophy, but also teach something about working with art.

I will add a "warning" that you will be redirected to a new page.

We obviously have to make some changes to The Little Cynic. Way too many people have trouble solving it right away. Thank you for your comments.

I think this is a really great idea, and it's a pretty fun blend of different exploration games, but why do you need so much money to make it happen?

yellowbouncyball responds:

Well they are giving 5k away in the contest, I did not pick the amount- I am going to release the full game on ipad/android/etc. so licenses for all of that- Plus id like to make the game extra long and add a lot of features in-

Please help- gimme a vote :)

I'm sorry but at 8.6 mb with no preloader, I think this may be contributing to your low avg. score.
Regardless of loading issues, I think the 3D is pretty cool. Really amps up the interest lvl, here.

I think that it's a little redundant to select a peg to attack and then have to click the "fire" button as well. The pace is a little slow.

Pretty good Battleship game, however. Would definitely be even better if it integrated the NG API tools.

SiliconDroid responds:

Thanks for checking it out. Appreciate it.

Yes my next up on NG will integrate nicely with loader if possible.

Yes it is redundant to press fire, but it's necessary on phones because peg selection is not accurate using finger on small screen, so the peg can be dragged/moved before pressing fire.
