I don't know much much of this is lifted from the original parody game you're uh...parodying. But it seems like you have good reason to be proud, this is a fairly solid game worth replaying at least once.

out of 10...
gfx - 7 (well...it's megaman, but gfx are all smooth)
sfx - 7 (nothing special, really, good song choice)
design - 8.5 (interesting choice to include buttons for Android)
gameplay - 9.5 (very intuitive controls, fast pace, exciting)

overall, this is a game that definitely meets its goals. Good luck to you in making a longer versioN!

Not very impressed with this one, the tank game was better! ugly graphics, slow character, unnoticable upgrades. I do like the idea, to use the ball to kill enemies. But it needs to do more!

out of 10...

gfx - 3 (ugly to look at)
sfx - 8 (good song, good sfx)
design - 4 (poor execution of great idea)
gameplay - 5 (not that fun, character very slow)

overall, this could be a good game based on a great idea. However, like the tank game you made before it, needs a few things here and there. I think you should release both this and the aforementioned tank game sequels after doing everything you can to make them 10x as good.

Definitely could have used more power-ups and upgrades. I really like the design of the vehicles, but some of the controls are fairly unresponsive. This is a simple idea, and definitely an improvement over your last game "Heavenly Resistance", but just needs a little more here and there. Also, some vehicles spawn right on top of each other and I still haven't figured out how to kill jets.

gfx - 9 (very cool, gritty designs and okay scenery/backgrounds)
sfx - 5 (no music, poor sfx quality)
design - 7 (nothing really special, but a good idea anyway)
gameplay - 6 (unresponsive controls, somewhat laggy, no upgrades)

overall, this is a good game that just needs a few touch-ups here and there.

Cool game, didn't expect this from the title. I love the music, and I really like the concept. I didn't like that there was a limit to what the player could do, really. No upgrades made this a somewhat frustrating experience, in spite of the fun level (which is very high)

out of 10...
gfx - 8.5 (they might like LOOK great, but they feel great)
sfx - 9.0 (killer tune, fun sfx, could have used more crashing sounds)
design - 9 (awesome action/platformer/puzzle blend)
gameplay - 8 (no upgrades, but solid controls and radical pacing)

overall, this may turn out to be a largely overlooked gem but a gem it certainly is...even if you DON'T make a sequel. Which you really should. The combo of different genres mixed with ease of play and a manic sort of multi-tasking stimulates and engages the player in a way that many games fail to.

So glad you like it! I actually did add a few unlockables under the options section. Perhaps I should've renamed that, as people seem to not notice it.

Thanks so much for the review. It really means a lot to me!

Really interesting cannon physics! I like the ways in which Mario can interact with the world using his bazooka. This is an extremely difficult game, as most cannon games are. However, this one gives the player a serious edge by allowing them to gauge the strength of their shots by using a color-coded meter. A visual to help approximate the angle would have been very helpful as well. Whimsical music and sfx.

gfx - 7 (everything mostly fits together well)
sfx - 8 (good song, but maybe more amped up?)
design - 8.5 (great mechanics, awesome world map)
gameplay - 9.5 (very fun, very challenging)

overall, a great game that's good for at least an hour's worth of entertainment. Also, for some reason, it really cheers me up. Definitely see the improvement over the original in many ways. Looking forward to your next game!

Thanks for your review! :)
I'm glad you liked it. We wanted to make it more challenging than the previous game, but maybe we should have used a couple of easy levels first since the learning curve was a little high if you didn't played the last game...
We're working in the third (and final) part right now and we're adding some easy/tutorial levels first to keep entertained the casual player

Question: why does the game take so long to load in spite of it being only 266kb? Must be a lot of external stuff to pull. Oh, well.
I think that this is an interesting blend of RPG/tower-defense with some shooter elements. However, it seems rusty in some way. Obviously inspired in some part by Fallout, I wish there was more focus on the player and their missions.

out of 10...
gfx - 8.5 (interesting renders, but somewhat dull by today's standards)
sfx - 0 (why aren't there any sounds?!)
design - 6 (somewhat cramped layout, grid interface makes for ugly maps)
gameplay - 5 (movement is wonky, too many tutorials)

overall, this could be a great game. It's pretty good for what it is, but it could be great. lacks elements of detail, aesthetics, and overall presentation could be much more interesting. I would like if this were multiplayer as well, but that may be a ways off as it seems like there's a lot more to work out here.

Great for a v1.0.

Hello, this game has about 7MB. 266KB is size of the preloader. Maybe I should find faster server somewhere in 'your' part of the world to make it faster.
This is my first game, and I am pure amateur which wanted to learn to write algorithms during my summer school holidays. So i decided to focus on gameplay code, not graphics that really needs big improvement. Btw there are sounds! Not all that I want but there are some. What explorer have you used? Thanks for response, I really appreciate it.

Solid ark clone, but needs sound effects/music. Also could do with some more interesting effects graphics-wise. You say you made an engine out of it. Which suggests that it may be versatile and reusable. If that's the case, then I can't wait to see what's next!

out of 10...
gfx - 5 (basic shapes and okay colors)
sfx - 0 (no sounds?! wtf?!)
design - 6 (nothing special, but it's solid)
gameplay - 5 (have to admit, very bored of arkanoid)

overall, a really decent clone but nothing too special. Most interesting part is when you say it's an entire engine and not just made of paperclips and chewing gum.

I noticed some simple bugs, like when you deliver the final blow to a melee enemy and they pop up right in front of you from wherever they were before. Or if you're running, I guess it's not supposed to let you shoot but it'll play the SFX and then start shooting when you stop running.
However, really liked the use of good perspective to set a convincing scene. The pacing is a bit slow, and without clear objectives the boredom factor goes up pretty quick. Combined with expensive upgrades and a lack of diverse enemies I think many people will get bored quickly.
I like a lot of the effects on the menu's, but hated how all the equipments were lumped into one mega-list instead of being organized into tabs.

gfx - 7.5 (looks like many rotoscoped BG objects and stick figures to me)
sfx - 6 (soundtrack not amped enough, low-quality sfx)
design - 7.5 (pretty good concept, refreshing style)
gameplay - 6 (gets boring easily, lacks diversity)

overall, this is another game to set a benchmark for the games in its genre. However, the combination of bugs, clear objectives, and more diverse enemies/equipments takes away from this what should be a real blast.

Got up to level 6, and I really like the design here. The idea to plot out the snake's moves as though it were almost a puzle-strategy game is very cool. I think this really ups the ante for reboots of old games. I can see this being incredibly popular on Android.

out of 10...
gfx - 8.5 (clean, polished, but may need an increased framerate)
sfx - 9.5 (music feels intellectual and sfx are very clean)
design - 10 (perfect design, good combo of strategy/action/puzzle)
gameplay - 9 (a breeze to learn, challenging to master)

overall, this is a real breath of fresh air in the world of retro-reboots. I didn't play the game it was inspired by, so I don't know how much is lifted from that. I don't care, though, because this is a very intuitive game with simple mechanics and theory working together to create something we haven't seen yet. Brilliant!

amidos2006 responds:

the other game I am inspired by its graphics almost :) but nothing in gameplay :) thnx for the amazing review :)

Pretty cool 3D effects. I really like that there are upgrades, and that you shared the source for such an awesome game. I can't wait to get home to take a look at that. Only gripe about the game is that the cursor dissapears when hovering over enemies, makes tracking somewhat difficult....also, upgrades are a bit too pricey....and the game seems to hang a bit when shooting. At least for me it does.

out of 10...
gfx - 8.5 (killer 3D, but could have used more color)
sfx - 8 (good song, solid sfx)
design - 8 (needs cheaper upgrades)
gameplay - 7.0 (fun to play, but cursor has issues)

overall, this is some very impressive 3D that works well for this type of game. Presentation lacked color, which made me feel sort of like I was playing a game made of newspaper. Love that you shared the source code, can't wait to see how much of the 3D is actually rendered herein.
