[Mercenary Profiles]

you know, for years I had no idea what these characters were. i always thought they were someone's own idea, then i see them again and again again and FINALLY connect the dots.

this is awesome.

i guess I don't understand why other artists tend to call drawings that are OBVIOUSLY QUITE GOOD TO OTHERS....why call them bad? i could understand if he had a head shaped like a potato and your foreshortening was absolutely way off, but it's not.
you took the effort to color this, the colors look great. the cowboy hat is perfect and hilarious, even his stance and the angle is pretty compelling. you pretty much OWN this character.

...i always have had trouble with placement of the face on these kinds of long narrows, i see you solved it here by providing a birds-eye view of a head-on gesture. awesome stuff.

It's not so much that I'm criticizing my talent, more that I'm making the comparison of effort I did then to now. I guess I should really rephrase that in the comments - It's not bad but I definitely notice how my techniques evolve and how much more effort I do these days (even though this Pyro artwork is barely a year old). I like what I did. I like how I did it. I'm more or less just raising my own standards. Self-motivated improvement, yada yada.

dude, killer figure, but theboots don't seem as strong as the rest of the outfit...also seems like you got a little lazy on the wings, there...haha, still strong overall...the shoulder-strap things really pull the whole costume together, as well as that corset-cup thing. i like the inclusion of her summoning fire, also...gives mystique to an otherwise industrial feeling.

For the wings, it's like I said, I kept the general simplicity of the item over butchering them into something entirely different though I find the more I stare at it the more I want to go back and actually change the wings completely and forget about relating it to any pre-existing item that the model used. Regardless, I greatly appreciate the constructive criticism! Thanks.

[The Glider]

i really like the concept, and the character....gotta say his forearms see a little clunky, in that he doesn't seem to have upper arms here, and the shoulders come out kinda too far it seems....the glider is cool, but doesn't seem to mesh really well with teh character.

i really like the old-fashioned world-war styled costuming, and the creature itself looks awesome, the little curl in the lip that tucks into the cheek and his glossy eyes look great...as does the shine on his equipment (boots, jumpsuit, etc)
