Tron is my favorite movie of all time, and the only thing better than this was the Discs of Tron machine. This is still pretty cool, though, feels like a little Tron-shrine.

uh, not sure how to review this since it's exactly the game. Let's see....

out of 10...

design - 9 (cool cabinet turnaround, but may anger players who check the filesize)
sfx - 10 (not sure if you recreated them, recorded them, or whatever but awesome)
gameplay - 10 (c'mon, it's the original lightcycle simulator)

joshmorgan responds:

Many thanks! We worked really hard to make this a faithful recreation of the Lightcycle level from the original arcade game, so I love hearing when fans like it!

The CG cabinet turnaround and the SFX where both supplied to me by the guys at Black Powder Media. The 3D cabinet turnaround was created by CG artist Peter Hirschberg, but I don't know where the sounds came from (though I suspect they were recorded straight out of Scott's original TRON arcade cabinet that he's got in his studio along with an original Discs of Tron machine). We played the heck out of those cabinets while studying the game for this version.

Much better than I expected. I would totally return to this game. Very challenging and awesome. Definitely reminds me of Sonic. I love the music and the characters. Translation is ok, actually makes the game better I think. Gives it a certain quirk.
very impressed, I love it.

out of 10...
gfx - 9 (simple and kinda crappy, in the best way possible)
sfx - 10 (awesome song)
design - 8 (intro could have been shorter?)
gameplay - 9 (very exciting and fast)

overall, just an awesome game in general. Maybe some people won't like it, but they're losers.

BobSpeekFlash responds:

Thank you! It's really hard to complete the game with all gold bars.

The game is pretty laggy, maybe you should turn up the framerate. Also, increase Jerry's speed, he is turtle-speed slow! The tongue is an interesting idea...but there is a lot to do for JJ's Quest 2! Good luck!

out of 10...
gfx - 5.5 (decent, conveys ideas well enough)
sfx - 8.5 (pretty funky)
design - 6.5 (every well-explained, just a little slowly)
gameplay - 3.5 (very slow character, jumps often miss enemies)

overall, I think there is great potential here for an amazing adventure platformer, but it's just not ready yet.

m-skara responds:

I feel a bit idiot because I didn't specify it's a demo test, anyway
thanks for your advice, I'll get it better....

A real treat if you actually have 3-D glasses...which I do! I think it works good once you're eyes adjust. You should have enabled scaling so people can max it out for the full effect.

Sadly, I can't say that I really liked the game itself...sorta clunky controls and I honestly got sort of confused by them. Between that and the low-framerate, I couldn't do it, I'm sorry. Awesome 3D, I think there should be more people making games with 'em. Hell, give 'em away in promotions.
However, I recall once I wore a pair for at least 5 hours on a cartrip and when I took them one eye could only see red and the other only cyan for a good hour or two.....

anyway....out of 10...

gfx - 7.5 (some awesome 3D effects, but drawings maybe lackluster)
sfx - 6 (could have used more than just bubbling and munching sounds)
design - 8 (good use of "anaglyph" 3D)
gameplay - 5 (hard to eat other microbes, controls somewhat unresponsive)

overall, I think this is a quirky game with a cool theme that maybe suffers from clunky controls and I can't wait for more!

Thunder-Hawk responds:

Ha! At least one man with red-cyan glasses :) There could be more anaglyph games if there are more people with the glasses to see them.
As for the controls, it's just not easy to eat somebody while swimming in the 3D space. But if you have extra difficulties, your computer might be either too slow, or too fast. (Tell me plaease what's the case.)

Bland and disinteresting, yes yes we've seen Pong. Very impressive. Like a thousand years ago! What can YOU bring to Pong? Lasers? Aliens? RPG battles? Racing? Upgrades?
One big thing this game lacks is great presentation. Yes, your Pong is solid and the computer doesn't always win. But y'know, I don't care about that if it's ugly and I can't even choose when to start playing.

out of 10...
gfx - 1.5 (no effort whatsoever aside from font-choice)
sfx - N/A (can't hear em)
design - 2 (can't even start the game at will)
gameplay - 4.5 (yeah, it's Pong, so what?)

overall, this is really bland and seems like a school project you should have run with or just plain old-fashioned uninspired.

Knifewound5 responds:

Yeah, I know. I'm very much an amateur programmer(As if you couldn't tell). I just posted my cheap knock off here so I could share it with friends and family.

Fantastic idea, very creative. I love the sense of fun you feel just from reading the description. However, the interface is a little awkward and the game interface seems cramped. The contrasting colors make for a tough experience that many may dismiss as generic or stale. I'm tellin' ya, it's all about those glow effects...haha.
Definitely liking the RPG approach, with ranks and whatnot, but I really had a tough time finding the "refinery". I think this still needs some work. However, at 10kb this is very impressive and I'm somewhat astonished, actually.

out of 10...
gfx - 5 (not much fun to look at)
sfx - N/A (can't hear em)
design - 7 (somewhat confusing and cramped layouts)
gameplay (very fun, seems well-balanced)

overall, I think this is a great game that may go completely ignored by the masses in favor of "prettier" games like.....RELIC OF WAR. Which, while it kinda sucks, has pretty graphics.

wildbunnygames responds:

Thanks for feedback! I need to find an artist to work with to redo the graphics and layout, since its only me making the entire game from top to bottom! :)

Simple, sweet, everything a good flash game should be. Great idea, good theme. Love it!

whileworking responds:

Thanks a bunch!

Sorry, doesn't load for me.

JackAstral responds:

Strange. Did you try refreshing the page?

Way too easy to go to jump on something and miss. The graphics aren't bad, and the game has a certain charm to it. However, I found it all too much and as a result cannot give you a fair review of most features.

out of 10...
gfx - 6 (workable, but too much blending)
sfx - N/A
design - 7 (cool physics, when they work)
gameplay - 6 (nothing too new or exciting)

vladamak responds:

Now they are harder to miss! I made some changes..

Far too complicated. I am not sure people are prepared for three pages of instructions, followed by a maze of menu's and displays. The graphics aren't bad in themselves, but they lack a certain CHUTZPAH. Sorry, can't hear the sounds...
I just don't have the patience or time to sit down for 20 minutes of instructions. If you find yourself getting low ratings, that is probably why...

out of 10...
gfx - 7 (decent, but lackluster)
sfx - N/A (can't hear it)
design - 6 (poor navigation, too many rules)
gameplay - N/A (couldn't figure it out)

parkfun101 responds:

PoisonHeart, thanks for your feedback. If anyone is having trouble figuring out the game, these demo videos may help:

It is actually pretty easy to play. You click an action, click your character, then click the pads that are displayed.

I'm not sure why you don't hear the sound effects. I just tried it on here and I could hear it fine or are you saying they are hard to hear?
